About us

The Test Center Saarbrücken (TZSB) is the test laboratory of the Institute for Future Energy Systems (IZES). It was founded in 1996 with the acceptance as testing body for solar thermal systems by DIN CERTCO.

Since August 2001, the TZSB, due to the above mentioned accreditation, is accepted as a testing body following DIN EN ISO/IEC 17025. It is effecting tests on solar thermal systems and their components according to the three European standards DIN EN 12975-1,2, DIN EN 12976-1,2 und DIN ENV 12977-1,2,3.

Since the beginning of 2003, the TZSB is allowed to award the new European quality label “Solar Keymark” together with a national certifying body (like e.g. DIN CERTCO).

The TZSB is the only test center in Germany located at a university of applied sciences. The high number of successfully performed test orders (more then 120 from inside and outside the country) and the actual orders from our clients demonstrate, that the service of the TZSB is very well accepted by the manufacturers.
